Thank you to everybody who made this time easier on me. All your comments really meant so much to me. I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things a bit, I've missed drawing and looking at all the wonderful art on here. My art just hasn't come out the way I've wanted it to, lately. Maybe a reflection on my mood?

But yes, thank you all so much. My mom would've been so happy to know that everybody here has been nothing but kind to me. And you all definitely have been!

As a final note, my messages and Deviations are extremely backed up right now, so it might take me a while to get to some things. I'll get there, though.

My Mom Passed Away

The brain cancer took her from us.

The funeral was Saturday. It was the hardest day of my life.

I'm sorry that I've come and gone so much and left so much of my work undone. Things just got worse and worse.

She was a wonderful woman. I love her so much, even after she's gone. She enjoyed this site and looking at mine and other's art - she saw every SAN the Bearded Dragon picture drawn by everybody, and loved them all. She only made a few comments on this site, she had planned to start getting more involved, but that was around the time she started getting sick. But I promise you that everybody here would've loved her. I plan to continue drawing her character Mariah Meerkat, even if I can't show the pictures to her like I've always done.

Sorry if I come off sounding weird or silly, I don't really know what to say with these types of things. Saying too little seems like an insult to her memory, but saying too much hurts. And no matter how much I say, I will never be able to get across how wonderful she was to me, and how wonderful her memory will always be to me.

So I'm going to end this saying thank you to everybody who's been there for me during the time when my mother was sick. The kind messages everybody left for me on here helped. It really made things easier on me to know that me and my family were in people's prayers.

Merry Christmas + Update On Things

Merry Christmas everybody.

I wanted to take this time to update everybody on how things are going, as well. My mom's currently in the hospital, we're about to visit her now. They originally said the brain cancer was getting worse and was causing everything for her, but now that things are getting a bit better for her (though she still has some problems with her speech) they're saying it looks like a stroke instead.
We're hoping she'll get home tomorrow, she still has an MRI to do. Then I think from there they decide if she needs to do Chemotherapy or not. I'm not really sure what comes next. We'll see, I suppose.

Anyway, just wanting to let everybody know I haven't left, I'm just still busy with life, even on Christmas. I hope everybody has a happy holidays!

Michael Crichton

Michael Crichton died yesterday at 66 of cancer.

I'm utterly devastated. I've already cried.

Michael Crichton wrote some of the best books of all time, including Jurassic Park, Congo, Sphere, Timeline, Prey, The Andromeda Strain, and my personal favorite, Airframe. He's been my favorite author for years and years, and the fact that I won't ever be able to grab a new book of his off a shelf is absolutely horrible in my eyes. I want so bad to read Prey and Jurassic Park and Sphere and all those wonderful books over again but I think that would just depress me more right now....

Yesterday, the world lost a little of it's light. I feel a lot like I did when Steve Irwin died. Where have my heroes gone?
